Maybe that's why you missed out in the leftover draw! I'm sure a moose tag beats any of the leftovers you applied for. That's going to be some great meat. I've only had moose a couple of times, but it was fantastic.

Remember to bring plenty of help....even a cow will provide you with several hundred pounds of meat. The "antlers" don't weigh anything though.

I have taken a couple of moose (a bull & a cow) in Canada and the cow I took was the best eating game meat I have ever tasted. Congratulations and get ready for some fun.

In this scenerio I have no doubt about you being able to kill a moose. I've never had a moose tag, but have been able to get four road kills over the years. It's still a lot of work, but packing out from right next to the road is definitely easier than any other alternative. In all cases, moose is definitely fine dining. Enjoy the journey.
