Long story short, novice hunter trying get to get my kid on a doe in 19 or 191 and we’ve had bad luck with everything. Any pointers would be appreciated. Seen lots on private at the side of the road but that doesn?t help, only frustrates.

Can't help you on the units but I would suggest that you try and get onto the other side of the private and catch them as they come down at night to feed.

If private is legal to hunt , have your kid ask for permission with you by his side. Make sure you have let them know you wont be the one hunting and that you just have a doe tag. Then ask for rules and advice as to where to start your hunt or how they'd hunt the area. Not only will your child get hunting experience but life experience in asking for permission.

And if that does not work out Nebraska is only a few hour drive to the East and they have OTC/Online doe tags in January and for youth it is only $8.00 per tag, Whitetail. Just another option. Good luck and God bless
