DIY 1st time Antelope Unit 7

Just looking for advice on this unit. I have never been there and I am wanting to get info for our first hunt. There is a lot of walk-in area and the big chunk of public in the SW corner We don't want to crowd other hunter so I don't know where we are going to set up camp yet. Any advice we aren't looking for monsters just respectable goats and a good time? Can you camp anywhere on the national grassland?

Southwest corner is extremely rough canyon country, not antelope county for the most part.
Outside of that bit of rough country antelope can be found anywhere in the unit. There isn't any monsters in the unit for the most part, so the first 3 or 4 year old you see, fill your tag.

I did an antelope/mule deer hunt in unit 16 last year a little NW from 7, theirs antelope all over that state. The best advice I was given was get out of the truck and hike. If you have onX so you know your boundaries just set up camp on the biggest public area you can find and hike. We tagged out in 5 days on mule deer and antelope. We probably hiked between 3-5 miles a day and never saw another hunter the whole time. Trucks would drive back to our camp looking for game to shoot from the road and see our heads. They'd ask where we were hunting at and when we told them there was plenty of game 3 miles to the north they'd turn around and leave. BLM and Grassland are ok for camping anywhere. There aren't any improved campgrounds on the grasslands that I know of, you just have to pick a spot. I think they ask that larger camps disperse, and camp away from water sources. The land around water sources are probably full of cow poo anyway, so it wouldn't be my choice of campsite. State lands are day use only. I haven't heard of any fire restrictions yet. I think that the walk-in areas are big enough you can get off the road a little ways. I haven't really been through the area with the walk-in areas this year, but it seemed like the antelope were all over in them last year. I was through before and after the season, so I am not really sure where the most hunting pressure is or anything. Fairly mild winter, seems to be good numbers around. Anyway, I don't think you'll have a problem seeing some.
