I have 2 uncles who want me to take them hunting. They have enough points to draw this unit. I know it has decent amount of walk in land as well. Looking for some thoughts on this unit if anyone has experience with it. One of them doesnt get around the best anymore but he will also shoot the first legal buck he gets a shot at.

34 can be real good or a bust just like everywhere else and it's also on the radar a lot more than 37. Point creep will probably hit it more and quicker than unit 37 too.

When we say "not a trophy area" is that meaning 140-160" range or below? I'm in the same spot but have 6 ppts...If I don't draw my elk tag deer is my back up plan and I'm ready to use the those points . I don't see any reason to keep holding them. I'm focuses on 34 but lookign for insight.

I call a trophy mulie anything that's in the 150s and above with good mass. Even those are getting harder and harder to find nowadays unless you can get on a ranch that has a lot of acreage with good habitat and manages it well or you can go up in the high country like we're doing next year down in G on horseback. That's where I'm burning my 6PPs next Fall so I have the best chance at a buck in the 170"-200" class with that number of PPs.

Yeah I hear, not worth saving a bunch on deer points in WY...seems like the options get worse the more points you have. I'm in the same boat, look to burn my 6 ppts this year then start learning a general unit.

I think that is a very accurate statement regarding the PP "rat race", as I call it, and why I'm getting out while the getting is good, LOL!
