Deer bullets for a .243

I would agree 85 is on the light side. I would recommend a good 100gr bullet.

I have to say in My 6mm Remington Remington 700 BDL likes Hornadys 100gr BTSP is one very accurate bullet groups average under 2.25 inches at 300 yds & I would not be afraid to shoot at any Antelope to 600 yds & Deer to 500 yds. This is a Deer shot with 6mm Rem.

My son shoots a savage 243 and I load it with barnes tsx 85 grain. He has dropped 3 antelope, two mule deer and two elk. They are probably on the lighter side for elk but none of the animals have taken a step.
