Planning for next year. We are sitting on 10 PP for deer in Wyoming. I have been looking at the late hunt in area 112-1, because it looks like we may have a chance at a quality deer. It looks like a majority of the National Forest is Wilderness, so I know I can not hunt there without a guide or WY resident. There is a section that is not wilderness, through e scouting it looks like there are maybe two public access points to the non wilderness area. Can anyone confirm that there is some public access to the non wilderness areas? Also, how bad is the grizz issue in that area? Any help is greatly appreciated. I have a call into Fish and Game as well. Thanks

Never hunted that unit, but north of there in 105-106 lots of grizzly in there. I'm sure it's gunna be grizz heavy in there! But depending on how the herd did there over the last couple winters, a good snow storm could be a good hunt. Still be some good bucks around. Good luck if you decide there, be bear aware!

There are plenty of grizz in there. You will need horses to access that country. I don't think 10 points will get it done unfortunately though.

Thanks for the info. I was going off of the draw information on the Wyoming Hunt Planner. It said 12 pp regular or 2 pp special. I am willing to pay for the special if needed. It does seem that the Hunt Planner is off on some of the draw odds. Just tough to make a decision on which unit after buying points for 10+ years. Just want to use them since we are kind of in no mans land on points. Thanks again for the info, greatly appreciated.
