Crazy Warm Winter Weather - Midwest

No joke, yesterday here in IA my truck showed we broke 70°. I think the official high was in the upper 60s. Snow melted weeks ago and most ponds are opening up, creeks and rivers wide open too. This is at 42° Lat, east-central IA. Today is shaping up to be just as warm as yesterday and we are supposed to stay warm through the week; prior, we were warm the previous few weeks as well, just not this much.

Any of the warmth making it into the intermountain west or elsewhere? Read all the threads about record snows in lots of the rockies, if it warms too fast, that's prob an issue too with slides and runoff.

Yea a wild winter for sure. With the last 3 weeks and the good forecast 10 days out, I gotta think the winterkill won't be nearly as bad in some areas as it could have been. I'd like to see some WY guys chime in on their thoughts with how the antelope are doing. I've been watching the Casper weather and it's been in the 40's and 50's for awhile now. I gotta think the antelope are actually doing ok but that's just my guess.

I'm not aware of anyone really hunting snows in this part of IA or if there is even a legal spring season really in this area, but early this week my wife called me while I was at work to tell me rafts of snows were flying over our home here just outside of Cedar Rapids, IA. I think it was this past Tues. A small flock spent the nite in a field adjacent our acreage.

73 here in KC today. Worked up a pretty good sweat looking for sheds. Unfortunately, the bucks were all still wearing their horns.

65 today at my place outside of Cedar Rapids. Saw the 1st robins yesterday. 1st turkey vulture back today, also 1st redwing blackbirds. Seems like 2 weeks earlier than I've seen them before, but we've only lived here 14 years.

This winter is crazy here. We have only got about 6 inches of snow spread out over about 4 systems so far and it has all melted that day or the next. Highs this week are supposed be around 60 all this week. I think it will spell disaster for the trees and shrubs. We have gotten plenty of rain, just the precip. and cold air haven't met at the same time to produce much snow, but definitely shouldn't be pushing 70* here till May.

We've hit 86 and azaleas are in full bloom. Usually means we'll get a hard frost and snow at Spring Break or Easter.

We hit mid 60s this weekend and upper 50s forecasted rest of the week this is crazy for February in Michigan

Warm in Ohio as well. Just hope this helps the wildlife in WY and CO as they seem to be the most effected.

In the upper 50's for a couple of weeks. Tonight and tomorrow cold & over a foot of snow....crazy.

62 today in northeast WI, ruined our sturgeon spearing season. First time in my lifetime there's no one out spearing during the season.

We nearly hit 80 here in Iowa yesterday. Felt like May.

Tonite, we have blizzard warnings inching uncomfortably closer to our region. So far, I think we are supposed to just get a couple inches of snow tomorrow nite, but that could change.

Enjoy it boys it is -2 here at my house right now but we should get up to a whopping 17 deg or so. They say a low tonight of below 0 as well.

that's nuts! all our snow was gone mostly with a whole lot of flooding, but now its all back! snowing like a mad man out there. my back is sick of it. ha. ole man winter doesn't want to leave.

Yeah, winter is back in Iowa today! Greasy ride home tonite as temps dropped into the low 30s, the wet roads froze and the rain changed to snow.

38 in our little part of TX this morning with an expected high in the low 60s. Supposed to be back in the 80s and raining Mon-Thurs.
