CPW Herd Management Meetings Gunnison Basin and Paonia/North Fork Areas

I would encourage anyone who has the chance to attend one of these meetings. I have gone to many of these meetings over the years. I feel like I always come away from these meetings with the conclusion that I still might not necessarily agree with decisions being made but I feel like a good explanation is always given as to why decisions are made the way they are. My experience is that the CPW people really do want to interact with us (hunters) and they really appreciate it when some make the effort to come to a meeting and give input. We (hunters) like to think CPW should answer to us, but in addition to that the reality is that they have to answer to the politicians who are more worried about votes in the next election than they are the resource, so this puts the CPW folks in a tough spot.

Agree 100%....it's one thing to sit at the keyboard and think you know what's going on vice talking to the guy or woman with boots on the ground daily.
