So im big into trapping back here in Wisconsin and always looking for opportunities to trap. Pending tag draw I will b hunting region y muleys this year again. Last year seen all kinds of yotes in that area. My thought was to throw a few of my traps and gear in the truck for the trip, so if I were lucky enough t tag out early I could trap while the rest hunted.

I did alittle looking on Wyoming game and fish on regs for yote trapping, and did seem to find much. Did see you are able to shoot them all year long (same as Wisconsin), but Wisconsin does have a trapping season. Also noticed u need no license to shoot them.

Is Wyoming the same or are you also able to trap them all year?

Do I need to purchase a trapping license or are u able to trap them with out a license also?

A few years back I looked into this and unless the laws have changed you can trap coyote and and fox and I think coons (animals designated as predators) too all year with a conservation stamp as a non resident. You cannot trap animals designated fur bearers like bobcat, mink, badgers and beaver without a trapping license. I have been taking a hand full of traps with me and make a few sets when I hunt in wyoming. That is the way I remember the law but it has been about three years and I am not sure if it has changed.

I believe Dan is right. A conservation stamp is all that is needed, and of course your traps have to be tagged with your name or trappers # for trapping all predators. As I remember that would be coyote, red fox, coon, skunk, jack rabbit, porcupine, and stray cats and wolf in most of the state when not tyed up in court. No exposed baits over 5 pounds, written landowner permission on private ground, 72 hour mandatory check and no part of any game animal can be used as bait or lure. In the 2013 regs ( all i could find ) I couldnt find where it says in black and white the conservation stamp needed but pretty sure I remember it from somewhere perhaps a call to a game warden or general help line could confirm. Of course allot more laws and rules if you go after the furbearers. Hope this is of some help to you.
