This year I'm hunting in eastern oregon at the end of August. I would be just as excited to kill a cow. Do you have any cow calling tips? Or just any advise for cow hunting? Thanks for any help
calling for cows is very very effective, lost calf call at end of august will give you results. I love the primos lost calf calls, they work awesome! move around a lot while keeping your eyes and ears wide open and don't be shy with that call. the last 4 times ive hunted cows this is how ive done it and each time I got surprised by cows running right into my direction.
I'll agree with Ivorytip on this one... I use a sleazy cow call though. Very effective at calling in both bulls and cows. Don't be shy about breaking a branch or two during your setups....elk make noise when moving around.
