I did. I used a playlist based one that had the walk/run que's set to my favorite style of music.

It is a good structure that will help prevent you from over doing it and causing injuries.

I never did go all the way to straight running. I transitioned it into a Galloway walk/run style.

I've done a ton of 5k's and 10k's. Did the Reno Tahoe Odyssey once and Ruby Mountain Relay twice. Also have done a half Marathon up at Lake Tahoe.

Don't worry about your pace, just focus on being consistant and making those intervals.

I have not, but have heard that they are a great beginner program!
Good luck and post up so we can all support and encourage you in reaching your goal this year!

Like Horsenhike said Higdon is a good resource. Work into it easy, they last thing you want is an injury to slow you down. Hope it goes really well for ya!!!!

Thats the program i used to start my running. I was way over weight but had lost some before i started. It was a good pace setter and structure to prevent injure. In fact i still use there run only 3 times a week and never back to back days. Ive lost 93 pounds now. Run 2 5ks in 2016 and now have 3 schedule for this spring and a few more in the fall.
