Nice Tom, congratulations. I have yet to see a Tom during the season this year. 2 weeks prior the turkeys were on my property daily. Then after the season started they were nowhere to be seen. Think they bred early and moved on looking for new hens. Still seeing hens here though.

Thanks all. Couple notes from the trip.

1) Good reminder the Merrimams are more like elk than turkeys.
2) The first pic is him coming at me from 100 yards out. He was in tow of three hens. Glassed them and got in their line of travel.
3) Had to let em pass then get behind and stalk him. He got to an opening and started to fan the
The 3rd hen.
4) Federal Third degree was the shell. Really impressed with it.
5) A full crop contains 1.75 cups of space. Corn
6) That Sandhills region sure is pleasant and quiet. Lots of sand stickers and thorns though.


Cant wait to go back.
