Does anyone have any experience with Colorado Unit 13. I have a chance to hunt a 2400 acre private land hunt next October and was wondering if anyone was familiar with this area at all. Any information would be greatly appreciated. The area is about 40 minutes out of Craig.

I believe I hunted it about 8-10 years ago. I don't have the Colorado map in front of me, but it is right around Steamboat Springs if I am not mistaken. That area around Craig and Steamboat have tons of elk. Not a lot of trophy potential unless the private ranch holds bigger bulls. I was public land, DIY on my hunt. I killed a 260 class 6x6 on an OTC third season tag. Biggest bull I saw, and I found a lot of smaller ones to pass...
