I am looking for as much info on the deer hunting in the holy cross as I can get. I'm sure no one is willing to put an X on a map but pointing in the right direction would be great. I am planning on packing in, distance is not an issue. But not sure I will even be able to get a scouting trip in. New job and 800 miles away. PM me if keeping it a secret makes you feel better. I myself have always tried to help fellow hunters as much as I can but I understand those who don't.

I have limited experience in Holy Cross...was there last year Sept 17-23 for Elk hunt. I was more on south end of wilderness area - very thick timbers and most anything above timberline was very rocky/steep. We did see Mule deer everyday - many just along the roads. I did not see any with antlers, but a few dandy bucks were spotted by others in camp. Maybe the northern side has more open areas for spotting/stalking. Good Luck - I'm curious how you do, I enjoy this area just for the beauty and high peaks. I'd also be curious if you find an concentration of elk in this area:)
