Well, had a great time but we did not score. I knew going in to a new area it would be tough to put a bull down, and the warm weather did not help much either. Saw tons of deer, but we did not have tags. Saw some elk, but they were all on private ranches. All we could do was listen to em bugle and check em out in the binos. The Friday before the opener we saw four cows on public land, but the rest of the hunt we never saw elk on public. Lots of beautiful country in the area. Took a drive up on Lone Cone to check it out and take a few pics. All in all it was a good learning experience and its always nice to see some new country.
Trying to convince my wife to move to Provo, Utah when I retire in 5 years. We stayed overnight there on both legs of the trip. I was really impressed with the beauty and the cleanliness of the area, plus I've about had enough with California. Now, I just gotta talk her into the move. Wish me luck. LOL!!!
