Colorado GMU 74

Gents,
I've hunted 54 and 511 in the pass and want to try a new Unit this year. I'm looking at 74 this bow season. I prefer DIY back country hunts and I think I'm going to bring my brother out this year. I may be able to scout 2-3 times this summer. Any info on the area would be great. Thanks!

I've hunted 74 a couple of time during rifle season. Lots of outfitters using the trailheads then. I live about 50 mile west of there and hunt 71 & 711 mostly. I hunt M/L mostly now in these units. Usually after opening week there is a lot fewer hunters. Hope this helps some. If you want more info, call the G & F office in Durango (970) 247-0855. They are really helpful.
