Drew a Colorado NR mule deer tag for Area 82 for its 3rd season 13-19Nov. I still need to make it down there to look it over and try to come up with a decent game plan. Has anyone been there and is hoping to scare a 160 class buck reasonable for that area? Any suggestions on where to concentrate my efforts?

The success rate for Bucks in GMU 82, 3rd season last year was 48%, and it's been running 43% for the last 3 years.
To get an idea of what it's like, you can go to the CO Hunting Atlas: https://ndismaps.nrel.colostate.edu/index.html?app=HuntingAtlas
You can select many different "layers" that will show you a lot about the unit.
Only about 20% is public and that's along the Eastern Boundary which rises from 9,000 up to 12,000/14,000 pretty quickly.
I haven't personally hunted deer in there but I think your best bet is to get up into those mountains.

They'll be in the transition areas quakies to open areas pick a drainage and go. Nothing but uphill until you get one down. You can get a 160 buck in every unit in CO just have to go to the sanctuaries where they feel safe. Find the does, find the bucks. Easy as that
