I’m currently in the hunt for a new Archery hunt unit in Colorado and seeking advice from anyone that has hunted any of these units recently. GMU 32, 22, 211, 42, 13. I understand looking for general info usually isn’t best on a forum, I’m a seasoned hunter tagged a cow last year in the southern corner. Yet unfortunately due to state changes having to find new ground. I’ve ran statistics, searched maps, yet won’t be able to have boots on the ground untill hunt time. Any solid info would be appreciate.

What southern unit? 99.999% sure there are still a boat load of leftovers for all of those units down south that moved to draw.

I think that one of the big problems with the units that went to the draw for archery is that there are a greatly reduced number of tags along with them being bull only or cow only for elk.
That and looking at the left over list there are not that many archery tags left, at least now. There may of been some when they first came out.
As for which unit to look at, pick one and head into it to see what you find. There are elk in all of them and until you get to know them or get lucky you never know.

I think that most non residents would like a either sex tag along with some residents.
At least that way they have a better chance of taking something home for what they have to pay for a tag.

Yes I wanted an either sex tag. I grew up in NM chasing nice bulls and still like to chase them, yet having meat in the freezer with a cow is better than tag soup. I looked at the left over tags and figured to take my chances. I like the challenge of new country but would rather not just shoot myself in the foot. Im not crazy and think anyone would give up their awesome spot, nor want to pressure an area they hunt. I am just hoping for a solid start. Any knowledge is appreciate.
