Colorado Archery Antelope

I am thinking about picking up an over the counter archery antelope tag for Colorado. I'm pretty unformilliar with the northern zones. From the few maps I have looked at I haven't seen alot of public ground in the northern antelope zones. Am I missing somthing? Any info as to a zone I should be looking into would be greatly appreciated. I am after more oportunity than trophy quality.

For OTC archery pronghorn, there ISN'T much public land in the northern half of the eastern plains of Colorado - pretty much none! You pretty much have to go south of I-70 to find public ground (Walk-In Access) or WAY south to find the Comanche National Grasslands. Any of the Big Game walk-in access areas (you can find that info on the CDOW webpage) will have goats to a certain extent, but you'll have other hunters as well. The Comanche gives you plenty of room, but in some areas, less goats... For OTC areas with public land, quality will be hit or miss (lots of pressure both during archery, and ESPECIALLY during rifle), as most goats are younger age-class animals.

I've been contemplating a rifle hunt on the Comanche. You mention some areas are sparser in goats than others; is there a particular GMU you'd recommend for high antelope numbers on the Comanche NG?

The Comanche gives you plenty of room, but in some areas, less goats...

I've hunted unit 133. The Roberts Ranch is all walk in access now I believe. Apishipa state trust land i also in the area. I have also hunted 861 and 84 wich do have some pronghorn I've been able to get close to just not as North or as East as other units. 133 has some very good ones. 861 and 84 are not as good but I did see a monster way out on private land last year. If you are interested in any of those units let me know and I can give you more info.
