We're new to hunting the Coast range here in Oregon. Primarily going for Elk, but got Bear and Cougar tags as well.
i don't expect anyone to give away they're special/secret hunting area... But if anyone could point me to a good Unit#/area, or even North, South, Central coast.. Would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Check out the new members intro, that seems to help. Glad to have you.

I've never hunted west of I-5 so I don't have anything for you.

If you are flexible on the unit you will hunt, take a look at the harvest statistics during bow season in the Western units. Here is a link to the stats at ODFW:

Some things to be cautious about. The Chetco and Sixes has very good harvest success but horrible access due to private lands. Powers elk is only on a draw tag except for spike bull elk. For Tioga you now need to pay a $350 access fee to access the best land on Weyerhauser.

I assume your archery hunting.
As UH said the the timber company thats owns about 30% of the Tioga is now charging a steep access fee.
The timber company that owns most of the Chetco doesn't allow access now.

Some of this would depend on whether you would be OK with a cow, the south coast is now all bull even for archery.
