there are a few threads about this already. The forum is not moderated except by eastmans staff. They are very busy with other things and the level of moderation that is due with a BST portion is more than this forum is currently staffed to handle.

Most of us will find Craigslist and Ebay much more efficient for the area around us than what this forum can provide.
They have been approached at least 6 times with similar threads that I am currently aware of since the inception of this forum....we still dont have one due to the majority of consensus to not need one. The above 6 posts were an odd exception todate.

It doesn't seem like it would be very hard to add just a simple, additional classified section to the forums. Now if you're talking like an auction type service then yea I don't think that would be feasible at all. There are already many different topics in the Forums, one more devoted just to classifieds doesn't seem to hard to me. The only thing im not sure about is if there are any legal consequences for Eastmans to allow things to be bought and sold on their site. And if thats the case, then i definitely wouldnt allow it either...

+1 on the classified section! It would be a great place to sell/buy/trade hunting and shooting gear.

My thoughts are I would rather buy used equipment from someone on here than eBay. You are always taking a chance buying something off of the Internet.

I think people are worried it might hurt someone that sold something and somebody isn't happy with the purchase. The thing is, describe the item and post pics. Don't lie about it. If you do lie, you deserve to have a post started saying don't buy from this guy. If we are all honest and I think most of us are. There shouldnt be any big problems. You will have that guy that says his pack is like brand new and the zipper is busted and pack is ripped but hopefully few and far between.

The other thing is, how often are you going to find a used eberlestock or Hoyt bow, jetboil on craigslist? I know not much In my area. Some of you guys might live in bigger places or a more concentrated hunting population.

If easmans doesnt want to moderate it, there are alot of people on here that would including myself.

I agree with Wolf. All it takes is one unscrupulous person to put a bad taste in everyone's mouth and Eastmans would probably end up with the short end of the stick.

I'm on the fence, It would be a fabulous idea since i think most of us on here are honest people who all love the sport and love our gear, but I also agree that one of two guys trying to weasel out of a bad piece of gear could have bad implications
