Cell towers

My family and I went to LA for my daughters cheer competition this last few days. I noticed there are more and more cell towers and other towers popping up on the tops of mountain peaks. One of my favorite glassing areas is from a cell tower. The roads are well kept and I can drive my rig rite to the top. It seems to me it would be a great idea to look on Google Earth for these towers and used the roads to get to where a good glassing are could be found.

Anyone else use these towers to their advantage?

Does anyone know if there is a map with all the locations of towers in a area?

I think cell companies have maps of where there towers are with their coverage maps on their sites. I camped by some tower in Idaho a couple years ago but it must not have been a cell tower since my phone didnt work there. lol

Be careful... I believe these are private property even though they are on national forest. Great place to glass from but I'm guessing the owners would frown on their use this way. Too much liability...

I have not seen any towers on FS land that were marked private or anything and I think it would be marked if going there was not allowed. Some have a fence around them to keep people away.

The first time I went to the top of Mt Lewis here in NV I was blown away. You could drive an 18wheeler to the top of that (9,800ft). It's an FAA tower complex so the road is needed but it blew me away. Made for some good views and glassing but also made for a crowded mountain of hunters.

One of my favorite roads to run when lion hunting runs up to a cell tower, decent road right through prime cat country. I've seen some good bucks and a lot of other critters along that road. A map would be handy looking for access to prime country.

Cell towers around where I live are on private land with big gates that say "No Trespassing". Where I hunt is a long ways from any towers and no cell signal, sometimes that is a good thing.

I agree, thought of that along long time ago but everything around here is gated locked with no trespassing signs.
