I heard that. Rim cut the zone numbers in half. On another note anyone ever hunt G6 Kern river zone. My hunting partner drew it. And we need some help! Thanks in advance.

I drew X-9A. Never hunted it before so I got some work to do. I probably won't be able to scout more than a couple weekends, with the work schedule and the the 4+ hour drive time. Studying maps, and squirreling away vacation days is what it's all about now. I'll be hunting alone if anyone wants to meet up or share ideas.

Go to the california section. Mallardslayer82 hunted that zone last year, he got a nice one and might be willing to help you. Congrats to your partner.

X-9A is a good zone, I drew the zone just north of yours. Call the guys at Kens Sporting goods in Bridgeport they can probably point you in the right direction.

Contact the DFW deer biologist for Mono County. He is a nice guy, and is very knowledgable about X-9A.

Thanks guys, I'll start heading up next month for quick weekend trips. Pack light so I can cover ground with my spotter and bino's. Do a little fishing while I bounce around. Probably scout a couple times during bow season so I can talk to other hunters and share info.
