California D9 Zone deer tag

Hello fellow hunters, long time no post...
This year I have been lucky to have drawn a tag in the California D9 zone... First time being drawn for a premium deer tag and am hoping someone who might have some tips to help me out, as I have never hunted in D9... any help will be much appreciated...

Are you going to hunt during rifle or archery season or both? there is some huge bucks in D-9, my cousin and his daughter drew tags with their second choice, so I'm going to help him out. Were heading out in August to hunt the archery season for deer and bear. I can let you know how we do. I haven't been up there in a few years.
