Wondering if anyone uses an electronic heater in a tent? Bringing a generator anyways so thought about bringing a couple of those Eden pure type infrared heaters, do you think that would work?

If you are camped anywhere near other you wont be very popular if you run a generator all night. The mr heater big buddy heaters work great off a 5 gallon tank and dont make noise.

I never have liked the noise that a generator puts out when out in the wilds.

But if you want to run the heaters you need to make sure that the generator can run them. Check the wattage of the heaters and generator that you have. If both heaters add up to more than the generator can handle you'll need to only run one. Also if you plan on taking your electric coffee maker you'll have to figure the wattage for it into the situation along with whatever else you plan to run off of the generator at one time.

I DON'T USE NO STEENKING HEATERS, WHEN CAMPING I LOVES THE COLD WHEN SLEEPING , HELPS me GET IN THE HIBERNATING ZONE.

I just have a sleeping bag good down to 0 or so. long as I can stay dry, I can stay warm.

it can on occasion make getting up in the morn, tough though

Yeah I was kinda worried about the noise to. Do you let the buddy heaters run at night to or shut them off? If it's cold?

In my converted utility trailer I have a wall mounted 6000 btu catalytic heater. I also have a co monitor/alarm. Keeps it warm enough (usually 50 or so) at night so it is not too bad getting up in the am.

In my younger days of camping in a tent we would just get up in the morning and get dressed and then were out of the tent. My sleeping bag is good down to a -20 and has always kept me warm and toasty.

Now if you plan on lounging around in the tent for a hour or two then you might need a heater. Even now that I use a slide in camper we very seldom turn the heater on. We just get up and put the coffee pot on to perk. Then crawl back into our bags. By the time that the coffee is ready the camper is fairly warm but then we dress for the cold and are comfortable out in the chilly temperatures that hunting season brings.

We have run the buddy heater all night when its real cold like 0 or below, we sleep in cowboy bed rolls so we stay warm even when its super cold. Two things that help me is those older guys that have to pee in the middle of the night can put wood in the stove when we are in the wall tent and that buddy heater has a fan so it takes the chill off fast in the mornings. We make the coffee the night before so all we do is heat it up both pots lol. We take a generator but only run it while cooking dinner at night.

I am one of those LOL....I use a urinal so trips outside the sleeping are pretty fast!!!

I believe it is one of those kind of problem that we all laughed at when we were younger and have to learn to live with when we get older. I am also in that group that has to get up at least once in the middle of the night but have learned if I limit my fluid intake after dinner that I can at times make it through the night.
