I have seen some monster muleys right off hwy 89 on the turnoff to Cassel. There is also a backroad that goes from Cassel to Fall river mills. I have not hunted it but have seen a lot of monster Mule deer and Muley crosses on that road. I would focus on the northern and northeastern areas based solely on thats where I have seen the most deer while I worked in the area. Good luck.

We used to hunt it relatively often before points system. We liked the Murken Bench off 89 in Hat creek and around Eagle lake on the opposite side of the zone. Not really secret spots but I think they are good starting points. Don't drive through Spaulding tract at Eagle lake because the big bucks sitting in peoples yards will make you sick; they know where is safe and not. CHeers
