Good luck to those hunters that have tags for the opener this weekend. I have a d8 tag so I'll be hiking into the high country next weekend. Let's get some bucks on the ground and represent our home state. It's not Utah or Nevada, but three are some respectable bucks in most of our zones. Might have to work and sweat to find them, but they are there.

Hi,
I have a tag for X-2 (Modoc/Lassen area). I've been pouring over maps, Google Earth, etc, etc. I plan to be up there a week before the opener on 10/1. Any feed back from anyone who knows the area would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Good luck to everybody. I was hoping to do a little D8 (I may still go up for a weekend), but I don't have a lot of leave this year, so I'll be using what I have mid-month for G38.

Good luck to everybody! I don't think I will have much time hunting my home state due to out of state tags. I got nice Roosevelt elk in CA about week ago, will post some pictures later.

Jump one buck on D8 opener and got busted by a couple other deer thr next day. Going back this weekend and hoping the cooler temps get the deer moving.
