This was my first year using the vortex ranger 1000. Its seems to be the best bang for your buck in range finders. I used it from august to december hunting all kinds of terrain. The only problem i have with it is hunting antelope in grassy flats its super hard to pick up your range but it is possable if you can hit your antelope or a single tree other than that its a great product and would recommind it to anyone that doesnt want a leica.

I started with a basic Nikon years ago, but after an extreme angle shot at a mule deer, I popped for a Leupold 1000 TBR. Loved it, but so did my guide, so he got it for a tip. I was going to replace it, but never found one on sale. They go for around $400. I bought a Bushnell 1000 ARC. It is a great rangefinder, but I was missing my Leupold. I just found the TBR on sale at Gander Mt. with a 10% off on top, so I snapped it up. Now have buyers remorse and need to sell the Bushnell. Used it once, and it helped me get my buck; $200 if interested. Both the TBR and ARC have a "Bow Mode", and work down to 5 yards.
