I was more disappointed with throwing himself to the ground after the defensive holding call. He looked like my 5 year old after I tell him to brush his teeth before bed.I'm also glad Newton got a big dose of humility because he is so full of himself. His behavior at the press conference shows just how immature he really is. Time to grow up.
Just got lucky. Got a question....How many of you have seen all 50 Super Bowls? I have.....guess I am truly an old goat!CC,
If you can pick them all this close? I want you to start picking my bowls for me!
I started feeling old when they introduced Joe Namath & Bart Starr....damn cc, that's kind of a cool thing to be able to say though. it was cool when they brought out the 50 mvp's form all the past SB'S. when Montana stepped out I started feeling old.
Seen all except three of them, '69, '70 & '71. Just happened that my ship was always deployed to Yankee Station in Tonkin Gulf during those years. Eventually watched them decades later. Did you see those 5 friends who have been to all 50 Super Bowls? That's pretty neat too. On those early Super Bowls, did you have to slide the tin foil up and down the rabbit ears to get the best reception or were you top of the line with an antenna on the roof?Just got lucky. Got a question....How many of you have seen all 50 Super Bowls? I have.....guess I am truly an old goat!
I played a lot of football (3 years varsity in HS, 3 years in college & 2 years in the service) and it really takes a toll on your body. I have a replacement ankle & knee and need 2 replacement shoulders. My scholarship got me a great education, but If I had it to do over, I think I would find another non contact sport to play. I was pretty a pretty good baseball player, but concentrated in football from college on. When you are young you punish your body and think you are indestructible.......just wait till you get old, as we all saw on a lot of the MVP's yesterday.I didn't necessarily feel old, but came to the realization that I have watched a LOT of Super Bowls when memories came back from over half of them.
What was interesting was watching all of the MVP's who are currently playing struggle. They are all such competitors and and it looks painful for them to not be the one leading their teams onto the field.
Yeah his antics were a shame. My experience is that this is what you typically see from professional athletes that think they are bigger than the game! Undoubtedly he is a hell of an athlete, but it stops there. Not a good person though. You should win with grace and lose with grace. I was definitely glad Peyton walked away victorious, I have hated him since at Tennessee but can't take away the fact that he had indeed won and lost with grace in his career and I respect him as a person first and an athlete even though he was a volunteer!I was more disappointed with throwing himself to the ground after the defensive holding call. He looked like my 5 year old after I tell him to brush his teeth before bed.
