I had a feeling at the end of last year that 2015 would be a great hunting season. I am off to a good start, drawing the Book Cliffs Archery Deer tag. Just waiting on Wyoming and Idaho results to get my calendar set. This is going to be my first hunt in Utah. Super Stoked!

How many points did you have? I went into it with 7 resident but not this year...

I had 9 points. I really did not expect to get drawn. I either got lucky or read the odds wrong. I don't get very much time off from work and am already expecting to be hunting antelope in Wyoming. If I get drawn for Wyoming then I will not have very many days hunting either unit.

I would turn in the Wyoming antelope tag. The Book Cliffs tag is a special deer tag. I would put all of my efforts into a big buck there.

I didn't think WY would let you turn in your tag after the draw closed. UT will allow you to do so, but I don't believe WY does.

That said, I would whack my speed goat over a couple days in WY then concentrate on the Books. That Books tag takes too long to draw to give it short shrift.

you will see a lot of 140-150 class bucks. One of my favorite places to hunt, plenty to see everyday, deer, bears, elk, bison, etc. You have your work cut out for you to kill a real big buck, they are there, but not around every pinon.

I am not going to turn in my antelope tag because I applied with my uncle. The deer tag is first and I will try to hunt down a good buck, maybe spend an extra couple of days in Utah. But I have to make it out to Wyoming with my uncle, we went into that draw with 5 points each. Wyoming was the original plan so I have to stick with that one for sure. It is going to be a killer season for sure.
