Black bear spot and stalk rifle

Was thinking of possibly depending on draw results trying a dogless bear hunt. Curious to what state and region you guys would recommend. I hunt archery bear here in ok but rifles are not allowed. aug or sept would be ideal times. Thanks

Montana or Idaho might have what you're looking for. Both offer OTC bear tags. Baiting allowed in Idaho but not Montana. If I remember correctly you can get 2 tags in Idaho also.

Idaho has reduced price NR bear tags in alot of units for about $35. You would have to buy an NR hunting license though.

OR has some pretty decent fall bear hunting. I know it isn't as popular as some of the well known states, but it's OTC and pretty decent spot and stalk, especially NE OR.
