I bought my daughter a Ruger M77 Mark II in stainless youth model and its has been a tack driver for her. She was 11 and about 70lbs when I started her on it and she has never had a bad experience with it. she shot her first cow elk with it and then I made her carry my 30.06 that I shot my first deer with so we could both have our first with it and she will probably will never shoot anything else now and she is 22 now. I have tried to talk her into another rifle of mine but she will have none of it. Also, it turns out this thing is awesome to pack into the back country.....I have packed it into several back country spring bear hunts and its an actual joy to pack! It also will not break the bank.
