I am looking for a daypack that will easily accomodate my 65mm Swarovski spotting scope and full size tripod. I would like to know if the Crooked Horn Master Guide II pack will do what is advertised and in fact accommodate them in its dedicated area of the pack. Any other suggestions of pack brands and models would be appreciated. Thanks all.

I run the 65mm Swaro and an Outdoorsmans compact medium or Promaster 525T tripod. Either works in my Eberlestock X1A2 with the head removed from the tripod. It's a darn nice daypack. I also have an Eberlestock Mainframe and Transformer if I need something stouter, the Transformer has the same pockets as the X1A2. They fit fairly tight so if the pack is stuffed full the spotter and tripod can be trickier to remove.

I run a similar set up as mcseal2, a Swaro 65 mm sts spotter along with the Promaster tripod and the Promaster panhead.
My pack is the Kuiu Icon Pro 5200. When I am scouting, my spotter goes in the left external side pocket and the tripod either goes in the right external pocket, or I stick one end in the bottom right pocket and strap it to the outside of my pack on the right side.
This works fine for me.
While I am hunting, my spotter goes in the same external pocket on the left side, but my tripod gets strapped to the left side, with the end of it in the left bottom pocket. This way, I get better balance because I carry my rifle on my right side, either over my shoulder or with a Kifaru Gun Bearer, and my rifle is NOT light weight.
One of the things I like about the Kuiu Icon Pro 5200 is that it has lots of pockets, which helps me keep things organized. I've been running this pack for the past 3 hunting seasons and have been completely happy with it.

Hope this helps out.

I'm using a similar spotter/tripod set up. I'm using and a huge fan of the EXO Mountain Gear 3500. It's simple, has a ton of usable space and compresses down to almost nothing on your back when empty. The frame is flexible side to side and moves with your body while being stiff enough to pack out a heavy load.

I like the simplicity of the EXO. I've used every Sitka and Kuiu pack available and went with EXO.

Is this a dedicated day pack or are you looking for a multiple use pack?
