There is no way I'd call it the "best" muzzleloader, but I love my CVA Wolf. It costs $200. So, you could use the savings to upgrade your other gear. it is a break action which is both easier to clean and shorter overall than bolt or plunger types. I bought the "compact" model which has a stock that is an inch or two shorter than normal. Being both light and short, It is very easy to strap on my pack when climbing steep hills. It is so easy to swing the short little gun up to my eye, it feels like a bb gun. Still has the full 24" barrel though. I also like the factory recoil pad. I switched to a Williams rear peep last year and liked it better than the factory sight. I shoot 110 grains of BH209 and a 300 grain Thor. I drilled out the breach plug to have a wider flash channel. A buddy of mine used BH209 in an old TC rifle last year with the standard breach plug and had hang fire problems.
