Not even if you have a concealed carry permit? That's a'gin your second amendment rights, no??
I've never looked in to it past looking at the archery regs and state statutes. They are pretty clear about no possession of firearms while archery hunting. I have always meant to call the NV Dept of Wildlife to get a solid answer. There are so many variables that it doesn't address like if you had a mountain lion tag in your pocket or if you are just walking in to camp and not actively hunting.

The topic of bear spray or side arm could probably go on for a long time, each item has its right spot and reason. Something I have wondered if camping late in the fall, how much cold or freezing temps can a can of bear spray take, and on top of having all plastic parts? Anyone have experience with how much pressure is in a can below 30 degrees?

Either item, the biggest part is probably education. I live in Cody, WY the last town before the east gate to Yellowstone. We have our share of grizzly attacks, and deaths. Most of these are still foreigners that do not realize what a wilderness is.

Honest story from last summer. 2 hikers from the east coast stop in town on their way to explore yellowstone, a person asks them if they have a gun or bear spray while hiking. They replied no, because they could not travel with a gun, they asked bear spray, what is that. We replied its a good idea to take along, you can get it at most stores for around $35. Their honest reply was "so bear spray, its like bug spray, you just SPRAY IT ON YOURSELF AND IT KEEPS THE BEARS AWAY?????? after laughing we were tempted to tell them, yes, thats what you do with it.

There was a lady in Jackson a couple years ago who went to Kmart...bought spray...then proceeded to go back out into the parking lot and completely spray her kids down thinking that exact thought....The amount of idiots i see around here in summer is unreal. . Ive run into people deep up in the wilderness while on my pack trips completely lost and turned around multiple times, both backpackers and DIY horse enthusiasts. Group of residents came in couple years ago to hunt the opener a ways past our camp..ramshackle camp set up illegally with food laying out and no bear proof containers, on top of that, last we saw them they were asking for us to call life-flight because they had a horse wreck and he broke his collarbone...we had to let him know life flight wouldn't be coming for him cause a collarbone and to have a nice ride out. People think they know everything until all hell breaks loose and they realize they are in over their heads.

I just got my new bear spray a few days ago. A Glock 29SF 10mm, loaded with Buffalo Bore 220 grain hard cast bullets. Or, loaded with 180 grain hollow points for when it sleeps under my bed.

I also have some Counter Assault spray, but I just have a hard time trusting my life with something that can't kill something else.

I use to carry bear spray but how often do you replace it?? Every year , 3 years, 5 years, how long did it sit on the store shelve?? How big of can do I get??? What if the wind blows it back in my face? Will the bear tear a big enough hole in the side of the tent so I can stick the can outside of the tent before spraying?
I decided this year to go with a Glock 30 and a 460 Rowland conversion. I can use either a 10 round or 13 round magazine and practice with it any time.
