I will be in a wall tent this fall in Utah. I need to purchase a cot for the hunt. Experience appreciated.

Ask the person setting up the tent how much room they planned per cot. My cabelas outfitter xl takes up twice the space of other cots. We can get 3 in a
12 x14 sleep tent with room to move and nobody right on top of the wood stove. Its my tent so it works for us, that and we use a separate cook tent.

I love my Cabelas outfitter xl. It is big but it's very comfortable. I toss and turn a lot while sleeping so it's a good fit for me.

The Cabelas Outfitter is what I was looking at. I was surprised that I could not find an existing thread on this. Thanks for the replies.

Don't for get the pad or you will be like a slab of bacon in the refrigerator. Without some insulation under you to block the cold you will have a hard time sleeping.

I have a Alaskan Guide cot from Cabela's and it is big enough for me at 6'4 and 240 lbs. For a pad I picked up a Teaton Universal Camp pad.

Match it with a bed roll and mattress from davis tent and awning. Sometimes i sleep better in camp then at home but the bride isnt bitching about my snoring in camp lol

We have an REI Kingdom 6. Because it has a floor, we always take 1/2" blocking to put the legs on. You really need this anyway in order the level the bunk. Take a bunch of 2x6 blocking or precut a big block to lift one cot higher than the other and overlap the frames. If you are only looking for a couple inches, it will make all the difference.

When We flew in this year, I ditched my oversize cot, and only took the foam bed roll. I slept really well on that, but you lose all that storage space that comes with a cot. I will likely get a smaller cot so I can be less of a tent hog.
