Barnes tsx in the field

I pulled this out of my cow elk i shot last week at 270 yds. Whent throughthe shoulder and lungs and broke ribs and shoulder blades and was just under the skin on the far side of her! I will be shooting barnes out of all my guns from now on!

What caliber was that out of? We shoot Barnes out of my dad's 257 WBY and to date they've killed both his and my largest buck and bull

I have had good terminal performance with Barnes as well.

I also like the terminal performance of Nosler Accubonds and Berger bullets (Hunting VLD and Classic Hunter)

I usually choose the one of these that shoots the best out of the rifle.

I hand load Barnes 200 gr TSX in my 325 wsm. The first animal I took with it was a 175 pound hog at 167 yards. The bullet enter just in front of the right ham and we found the bullet in his left jaw. It looked like the one in your hand and still weighted 200 grs.

The last animal I shot was a 6 x 6 bull at 60 yards. The bullet entered just below his backbone behind the shoulder. It completely lifted his front end off the ground. We found the bullet in the hide on the off side. It had mushroomed perfectly but one of the pelts had broken off. It weighted 187 grs.

I really like the Barnes bullets.

In California, I only use Barnes ammo. Both my Remingtons, .270 and .300 Win. Mag. love them!!! On a 200 lb. wild pig, I pulled out EXACTLY what your photo indicates; on deer and antelope, same thing. Barnes are expensive, but I will continue to use them because of their great performance.

I shot it out of my .300 Win Mag, the bullet wieghed 179 grains and started at 180.

I'm still shooting the original Barnes X 115gr out of my .257wby. They are awesome! Unfortunatlly I have never recovered a bullet out of an animal yet but with the dammage they do I'm okay with that. I will be going to the TSX 100gr soon since Wetherby has stopped producing the ammo I'm shooting now.

I recovered a Knight red hot which I believe is made by barnes from a deer under the skin much like yours and it expanded perfectly like that too. They make a great bullet!
