I just noticed that oakielite was banned. I for one will not miss him, most of his replies were argumentive regardless of what the subject was.
Thank you to the moderators! :)

Just got back from an extended shooting and fishing trip so I have missed a few things. Too bad, hate to see anyone get in this situation, but no one's fault but their own.

I hate to see anyone not be able to use this forum its such a great resource, but I hate also dealing with people who want to argue and twist around everything that is said. I applaud this forum for drawing lines, Thanks. ( By the way how do find out if someone is banned ?)

It will say banned directly under the persons name on a post. Where yours says senior member there will be the word banned. If you search any members name it will still pull up posts from them. I agree with you message above- It's too bad it has to come to that but understandable in some situations. TopGun 30-06 for example was a wealth of knowledge but just had a terrible way of putting things at times. I have noticed he is banned from many other forums as well.

Well, I appreciate you guys thanking us for banning people. It really is one of the more unpleasant things that we have to do on occasion here and I hope I don't have to do it again for a very long time. Trent and I never ban someone without contacting them first and working towards better behavior. In some cases we have avoided bans no problem, and in others the ban eventually came.

I have said this before and I will say it again. I am VERY thankful for the pleasant atmosphere here that ALL OF YOU are responsible for. I can't create that and neither can Trent, it takes all of you collectively as a group. All of you are welcoming, you direct people to the proper places for introductions and when a debate happens it is almost always civil. After talking to other forum moderators who have to ban people and IP addresses on a regular basis I become even more thankful.

So again, thank you to all of you who participate in this forum and make it a great place. It doesn't go unnoticed by new members and it is appreciated by all of us here.

The civility of this forum is the only reason I continue to participate. Early on in my time here, I saw first hand how our Moderators handle the EF. Kudos! As I learned in Kindergarden, if you can't play nice in the sand box, pretty soon you can't go in the sand box. Not saying I am perfect or never have had a cross word, but I believe I have learned to not engage or just stop, almost always. Back to Kindergarden, never say always or never...

All I can say is the SCOTUS, tattoos, high fence, long range, current POTUS, classifieds, police related social unrest, bandidos shoot-out in Waco & marijuana legalization has kept me busy. You'll notice only a cpl are hunting related topics.

Sometimes you just have to do what you have to do when the negatives of a person's e-persona outweighs the positives.

This is the best hunting forum I have found. Of course I stay away from just about anything non hunting related. I felt obligated to post on this thread because 1.) i thank the mods for nipping issues in the butt 2.) to keep this forum my favorite place to share stories and info we need to keep focus and keep like minded people around

Something simple my granddad taught me was that if I dont have anything positive to say then dont say anything at all and if I ask for someones opinion dont be insulted by it, you got what you asked for.

Thanks again Eastmans for providing my favorite forum!
