To anyone considering a new day pack,

It is no secret that the Badlands 2200 pack has been a popular choice for years now. I currently use this pack as my day pack. This year while on an elk hunt in Montana I used it to haul out loads of meat after filling my tag. I loaded the pack up with approx. 85lbs of meat boned out. I was unsure on how the pack was going to handle it but I was pleasantly surprise by it's performance. The pack was comfortable, strong and never once needed adjustment. Thumbs up to the Badlands 2200! Great pack for serious hunters on a budget.

I have a 2200 and used it once on a bivy elk hunt....and that was the last! I shot a bull around 3 miles from my truck. I had problems packing out my camp, rifle, and a front quarter with it. It was pretty much torture! I was certainly glad I had my Arcteryx Bora 95 for the remaining trips! I pretty much retired my 2200 from using on bivy, spike camps, and packing game after that one test run. Since that time I've bought a couple Kifaru bags with a duplex frame that are a welcome relief to my back, shoulders, and legs! I have used and abused my 2200 for over 20 years...and it has been my go-to pack for day hunting but not designed for bulk and hefty loads.

Have several badlands packs and I do agree with the weight issue, they don't sit very well and leave my shoulders/back hurting even if you adjust them right. Bought a kuiu pack and it was a night and day difference! Still like the badlands just will only use them on short trips

Yeah I agree that the badlands 2200 is a good day pack. Although I have found mine comfortable I don't think its a good option for camp packs. I use a Mystery Ranch Marshall for anything extended stay and it is bomb proof!

I agree.. I have used the badlands 2200 for about three years now its been awsome but i use the badlands ox pack frame when i have to haul heavy loads and its been great would highly recomend it also.

Will muddy the waters even more... Take a look at the MR Cabinet, it is the crew cab at a lighter weight and functional load lifters.

Trent has a KUIU and can speak to it. The F1 Mainframe has some merit in daypack/load hauling world.
