One and a half hour's drive, two hour hike in, 2200m, 10cm+ snow. Spent three days, two nights chasing tracks. Watched some moose feeding in the alpine ponds, followed a couple of groups of mule deer until dark without getting a glimpse. It was an adventure, fog, ice storms, snow, driving rain, some sun, sketchy weather. The hunt can be grueling at the time, but looking back we usually wouldn't change a thing. Sounds like a great time spent afield.
