Do you just park at trail heads in idaho? Or the side of forest service roads and can you camp to the side of the road?

Really new at this and from out of state where you can hike boarder to boarder on the public ground. Any help would be appreciated.

tons of camping options near rds. you will more than likely not be making it into bear country till late may this year. at least in south east side of the state. tons of snow and a huge storm moving in for the weekend. no lack of bears in any of Idaho forests. what state you coming from? I'm planning a bear hunt in the Blackfoot mountains for spring. I can get you set up with some access to some good bear country if you decide on this side of the state. 2 bears kept giving me the slip and at least one of them is going to be brought down this spring!

Hey thanks for the reply. I'm from Nebraska and have hunted Wyoming as well. I'm just real Interested in hunting black bear and camping out there. Sounds like Idaho looks like the place for that action. And also carrying a wolf tag sounds fun. So I'm in the process of figuring out where to go and how to go about it. Should be an adventure

if your wanting a chance at a wolf as well, id look into northern part of the state or a little area called copper basin that's close to challis. but like I said, don't get hopes up to high, snow will more than likely keep everyone at bay for bears till almost end of season, on this side of the state.
