So I have couple AZ points and looking to either enter the draw this year or just apply for another point. My question is, if I'm NOT selected for my first choice BUT successfully draw my second choice...do I lose my points?

Keep in mind this is for Arizona. Thanks for all in advance! JH

Ok, that is what I just heard but questioned it. No backing behind my thought, just basing it off my experience in other states. Good to know and I appreciate the feedback

my post meant to read the only points you DON'T lose after getting drawn is loyalty and hunter ed point if you qualify for them.
so if I have 1 loyalty point and 1 hunter ed point I'll always have at least 2 points in the draw? did not realize that.

A Loyalty bonus point can also be earned per species, if an applicant submits a valid application at least once a year for a hunt permit-tag or bonus point for that species consecutively for a 5*year period. An applicant retains the loyalty bonus point once accrued as long as the applicant continues to submit a valid application for that species at least once a year.

Do you earn one loyalty point every five years or one loyalty point per lifetime first five years? I mean if you apply 10 years you get two loyalty points and if you apply for 15 years three loyalty points?

Nothing complex and confusing as long as you are a lawyer.

It would be nice if every state would adopt the same process for all of the draws but they like to make us hunters that hunt multiple state have to work a little to figure it out.
