I have found that with as many ATV rides that there are out west here that the animals quickly learn to not pay any attention to them.
Roads that 20 years ago never saw more than 1 vehicle a week drive over it now has a couple hundred ATV's driving down it every week to the point that the road turns to dust.
I have also sat on a hill and watched both deer and elk just step into the thicker brush as a ATV approaches and then steps back out into the open as they go by. With the rider never knowing that there was a animal in the area.
