Arizona Elk 2016

I have been researching what unit to apply for this year. Unit 5B north and south have been combined this year so has anyone ever hunted either of those units. I have hunted unit 6 in the past and have wondered about these units. I know there are allot of tags but just looking for a good experience and not the biggest elk in Arizona. Any help as to where to concentrate my efforts would be appreciated.

those are all good units but plan on spending a few years getting drawn. If your not looking for a large elk a recommend applying in other states where it's easier to get a tag.

I have applied for several other states but always have to apply in Arizona. I know that it is hard to get tags here but when you continue to accumulate points that all cost plenty when you are a non-resident you might as well put in for a unit. I have changed my mind and went back to same unit I always apply for. Good luck to anyone who applied.

I guess we are all just waiting to hear on the draw. Arizona is the one state that seems like most people on this forum are not sharing much information about. I know your odds go down with each applicant but not sure it changes allot.

Maybe the reason people don't cuss and discuss elk in Arizona is because there are no elk in Arizona.
