I have been trying to find some information on drawing an antelope tag in Arizona as a non resident. Does anyone have any suggestions on units that could be drawn without a ton of points? I would like to hunt a buck but I don't necessarily need to Shoot a giant, I've just heard that there is a lot of opportunity in AZ. Any information is greatly appreciated, thank you.

AZ rifle antelope tags are one of the hardest tags to draw in the US. Archery and muzzleloader are somewhat easier, but still quite difficult. To accumulate points you must purchase a nonresident hunting license. I've been applying there for decades and am sitting on 28 points.

If you aren't looking for a giant, skip AZ and hunt Wyoming. You can get a tag in a good unit every couple years and you can also draw 2nd choice tags that aren't that bad either and continue to build points.

You are going to go into the poor house applying for Arizona, that is unless you also apply for other animals there since you have to purchase a hunting license for the draw. That and the few tags that Arizona lets out for them. But then I haven't checked to see just how many tags they do let out for non residents.

If you want a speed goat go to Wyoming. In 6 years you can get into a pretty good unit.

Non residents drew rifle tags in only 1 unit in the bonus pass in 2017 and all had 24 points. They drew in 3 archery units and had a minimum of 14 points.

Go to Wyoming.

Loveland, CO. was AZ.
ColtA- skip Arizona, the odds are so so slim for a NR to draw a tag. I was never drawn there as a resident for rifle or archery. Also, the antelope I’ve seen over the years living in the state were never impressive. As stated above from the guys...”go to Wyoming”...best to you and your future hunts for antelope.

I am definitely interested in hunting Wyoming too, if you don't mind my asking, what units can you draw second choice? Also, in your opinion where are some decent units got can draw with 6ish points?

Keep track of the left overs list, this has been shrinking as people want opportunity. However, you do have a decent chance with many of the units in NE Wyoming. Don't blindly list though, do you access research well ahead of time.
