Area 16 Elk report?

I'm packing up and heading out in the morning for my ML bull tag that starts on the 22nd.

Just wondering if anyone's been out in this area and has anything to report. I know that there are several on here that had tags that should be done by now. Haven't see much come back.

Loading up to stay out the entire time. I hate to miss the Nevada Day celebration. Hopefully, I'll be done and can make it

My back went out on the first day of my daughters antelope hunt, then I proceeded to pack out 3 more. Pretty much ensured my Elk hunt was done. We did get up on top and look around for a day but that was it.

I'm on the road. Looks like it's going to be wet and muddy for a few days.

I'm back. Had to pull the plug a bit early. Saw a few bulls before the season started during the wet weather.

Once the season started, I only saw 1 bull and couldn't get on him after several days of trying.

I've heard that the herds are still hanging in the Wilderness area. Since it was just me and my 73 year old dad, extended packing in the wilderness wasn't an option.

We had a good time and I'm looking forward to building points again in 5 years.

The hot tub at Pott's was wonderful.

It's probably the nicest remote tub I've been in. Definitely the cleanest.

My other favorite is the tub on the Walker River between Yerington and Bridgeport.

Room for about 4 people, 5 if you are close friends.

Never been to that one. Didn't spend much time near Yerington except NITC.
