FYI, the only real public access is the WGFD Daley unit. The weather's been pretty warm and dry for the last couple of weeks and the resident herds are mostly up on Atlantic Rim where public access is slim. Out West Safaris controls the access and maintains a list of those asking permission. I belive they are waiting for the elk to migrate in from the Sierras and Miller Hill before they allow much more access. If you get a mile or two from the main roads on the Daley, you can probably find a few hiding out in the broken country. Of course, you may find a few right on the main road if you're lucky!
