archery Elk Unit 61 Finally

Finally after 14 years I'm leaving tomorrow for unit 61 Archery Elk. It took forever but it is finally here the positives for waiting so long I have been able to spend the last few years scouting and even hunting 62 wish me luck and send some prayers my way.

14 years is a long time enjoy the hunt. Heck you could be a specialist doctor in that amount of time.

Good luck! I am sure you are already aware but there is a very large fire in 61 and about 17 miles of the divide road was closed. The area I shot my bull in last year is closed to access. I have heard a lot of the elk have pushed into 62 so be prepared.

Divide Rd is open as of 8 p.m. last night and they made the closed area in 61 smaller also. Anyone caught in the closed fire area will be fined 5,000.00.... so don't try to hunt the burned areas.

Good luck on your hunt Vinny and I hope you find a monster ! I know of a very heavy 6x6 that was killed in 62 opening weekend.
