Very nice. I am having mine from this year done. Do you do it or have it done for you? I made the mistake of leaving it for taxidermy to complete. I have done several white tail. It will cost me over $350.00 by the time I get it. Not blaming the taxidermist as I made the mistake of not asking the price. That just seemed high as most charge from $75.00 to $125.00 around here for euro mounts.

I have my taxidermist do it. He's awesome and his run around $150 and it doesn't take him about a month or so.

I think 150 is about the most a euro should cost, the last antelope I had done cost 260 with a plaque, that it was ridiculous, I'll get mine done elsewhere from now on. Taxidermist said something about having to remove scent glands from antelope horns was the reason for the extra cost, mine stunk something terrible for a long time. looks good and matches my other euros was the reason i went with that taxidermist, they've done others for me in the past but won't do any for me in the future. They're pretty big now and I'm sure they sub out all their euro mounts, so I drop my head off there, they charge me 260, and then send my head to someone else who does it for them for $100, pretty good gig making 160 for doing nothing

My taxidermist has stuff sent to him from all around the world and doesn't do fish or birds. Only big game. He's a little more expensive, but does an amazing job. He's also redoing my fathers 210"+ whitetail deer that was harvested 40 years ago into a different position. He's also a heck of a nice guy and easy to work with

What scent glands was he talking about???? None on the horns or even inside the sheaths. Sounds like he did not get the "lining" out of them.
Price may depend on if they have to boil the skull or have beetles do the work.

They are not hard to do yourself. I already had the hide and all the meat removed from the head. I would need to research how to remove the horns. I then dig a hole and place them in the ground and cover them with a bucket or tub and place a block on top. Then about mid June dig them up. A little final clean up then soak in water hydrogen peroxide mixture about a day. Then place out in the sun and it is white as snow and ready to go.

Our guy that does beetles quit and all the taxidermist around here wanted 250 and up for an elk so doing our own this year....It's been a learning experience to say the least.
