Archery Antelope 067/068

I set up some trail cameras at a couple spots near Willow Creek reservoir where I've seen them during the horns shorter tag/season. Set them over a month ago and checked them this morning. 350+ pictures of moo cows and coyotes.

I went out this morning and set them on some other water further south. It was a rocket run this morning but I didn't see anything on the way or any fresh sign.

My daughter and I have the same tag and the season opens in a little more than a month. I'm getting worried that I'm wasting time in the wrong places.

Anyone have some advice that they'd share?

Look for some alfalfa fields that don't have the 10 foot high fences around them and there will be antelope feeding in them. Even if you can't hunt on the fields you can watch where they go when the leave the fields.

I have hunted antelope in 3 very different units of NV and even if there are no alfalfa fields is doesn't seem like they are too hard to find. Sometimes it might take you a day or two to find them through a lot of dirt road driving and glassing.

I went out Sunday and checked my cameras. The fire missed them by about 500 yards. A group of antelope came in once during the month. Deer came in almost daily.

Hoping that the antelope will come in more often as the area dries up a bit more.

I was in 67 last year. The hunters camping at willow were hunting to the south. I was told that there were a lot of antelope in the burn to the south. I would look at google earth and find the old burn and hit the water close to that.

There isn't much left South of Willow. 220,000 acres burned. The burn starts about 5 miles south of Willow and goes pretty much all the way to Battle Mountain.

No traffic. There wasn't even anybody camping at Willow. I think the only thing they were doing a week ago was using a helicopter with a thermal camera looking for hot spots.
